there's a reason we travel this way
Wildmere wasn't built around a formula for the perfect trip. It grew from something much simpler: the belief that sometimes getting away from everything familiar gives us enough room to hear ourselves again.
And for me, that belief started long before Wildmere had a name.
the woman behind wildmere
There's a moment I've known for most of my life.
It happens somewhere between stepping out of the car at the airport and hearing the wheels on my suitcase start rolling across the pavement.
Something shifts.
Whatever was waiting for me back home gets quieter. The endless next thing stops pulling so hard. And for a little while, I'm not trying to get somewhere else, figure everything out, or keep up with what comes next.
I'm just there.
Travel has always done that for me. It gives me room to wander, follow whatever catches my attention, stay somewhere longer than I meant to, and remember what it feels like to move through the world because something in me says go that way.
For a long time, I thought I simply loved going somewhere new. Now I know there's more to it than that.
Travel has a way of bringing me back to myself.
Wildmere grew from that belief.
Not that a journey needs to change who you are. Maybe it just gives you enough distance from all the noise, expectations, routines, and endless next things to hear yourself again.
That's the kind of travel I want to help create here.
Not a checklist. Not somebody else's version of the perfect trip.
A little more room to wander. To notice what pulls at you. And maybe, somewhere along the way, to come home to yourself.
